Description
Class Experience
Each week students will draw and color a portrait. The class will begin with an introduction of myself and fellow students and inquire the artistic goals of each student. We will draw portraits using highlight, mid-tone, core shadow, reflected light, proportion, and various other techniques. The first class of the week will focus on line and proportion while the second class meeting will introduce color. I am a hands on instructor and encourage discussion so that all students gain the...
Students will develop their drawing skills and have a better understanding to color theory pertaining to portraiture .They will have a better understanding of value, proportion, and shape relating to the human head, face, neck, and hair.
Graphite pencils, blending tool(Q-tip, blending stub), Colored Pencil set (Prisma color or Schpirerr Farben pencils), sketch paper, kneaded eraser or plain eraser, ruler. A printer or digital copy of the portrait ( I will attach the image to the class discussion page)
2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
