In this weekly ongoing class students will learn new drawing techniques using color pastels and draw various topics.We will draw animals,landscapes,still life’s,abstract art and many other topics!Students will learn how to blend colors and learn the importance of color,texture and shadows to create colorful pastel drawings!We will also learn how to use pastels to layer and how pastels can be used in mixed media artwork.Students will learn how to use shade and light to create dynamic coloful...
Students will learn about the use of layering with color pastels to make a drawing stand out.Artists will practice drawing animals,landscapes, still life's, and other topics with color pastel. Please keep in mind that students work at their own pace and might have to work on their projects after class.I encourage all my students to express their own creativity and a comfortable encouraging environment!
I have attended Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Arts on a full-ride scholarship and I am a Presidential Scholar and Young Arts Scholar in the Academics and Arts.I have taught art and painted for 12 years and have showcased my artwork in the Smithsonian Museum and Galleries in Miami and New York City!
Any Heavy Duty paper will do such as mixed media paper,water color paper,pastel paper or drawing paper. Assorted Pastels hard or soft pastels are fine. I recommend NuPastel by Prismacolor because they are affordable and a professional quality pastel for the new pastelist. The following softer brands are great such as Rembrandt and Faber-Castell Workable fixative such as hair spray,Blair, Krylon, or Sennelier
