Color My Feelings: All The Colors of the Rainbow (Ages 5-8)
In this ongoing course, every week the students will discuss a feeling that matches a color of a rainbow. They will learn how to identify their feelings and gain emotional regulation strategies to help manage their big, colorful feelings.

In this class, learners will dive into the colors of the rainbow and learn about one feeling each week. The students will then learn about how their body and mind responds to these emotions and gain emotional regulation strategies. Some of the social emotional skills that the learners should achieve are feeling recognization and identification (learn how to name how they feel!), body awareness, and coping skills when experiencing the all of their BIG, COLORFUL emotions during their day. The weekly feeling/color are as follows: Sept 16th: Red-Mad Sept 23rd: Orange-Silly *No Class Sept 30th Oct 7th: Yellow-Happy Oct 14th: Green-Anxious Oct 21st: Blue-Scared Oct 28th: Indigo-Sad Nov 4th: Violet-Tired *Topics will repeat after seven weeks. Learners can join this course at any time.

Hello there! My name is Sarah, and I live in Pennsylvania with my husband, 2 kids, and cute pup. I received a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in School Social Work. During the last 10 years, I have worked as Counselor in Kindergarten through 12th grade teaching social skills, life skills emotional regulation, and positive behavior, an Assistant Teacher in Early Childhood Education, an online ESL teacher, a Personal Care Assistant for kids with disabilities, and a Kids' Program Director for my church. Also, in my spare time, (while caring for my 2 little kiddos) I was an Event Planner and had the opportunity to plan weddings, baby showers, and business events.
Aside from teaching in educational settings, I have real life experience teaching every day with our two girls that are 2 and 4 years old. Currently, we are doing preschool together at home. They are loving it and so am I! Through play, exploration, and practical fun we are learning Art, Reading, Science, Math, and Writing.
Another fun fact is that I have an extensive background in Musical Theater, Dance, Forensic Speech, and Choir. This will be incorporated into my teaching style.
