This class is a time to relax and unwind, or rejuvenate and energize. It's a time to have fun, be creative, meet new friends, and build social confidence. As an ongoing class format you can join any class you like. My teaching style is one of being inclusive, positive, and flexible to meet learner's needs. It's important that everyone feels welcome and valued. I come to class prepared with lots of questions and always have a game at the ready. Learners will take turns sharing based on the week's topic. Learners are welcome to bring their own topics for discussion, or suggest conversation games as well. There's always a sharing of art before we say good-bye. I encourage all learners to be open to, and celebrate differences & new ideas, and always to be kind! While this course has no academic goals, "soft skills" are very important. Being a good friend, knowing how to share and support others, being a good listener, having an outlet for relaxation and creativity, being open to others' thoughts and ideas are all good life and career/job skills! Friends should either print off the coloring sheet in the classroom, or bring a coloring, drawing, craft project to work on. Teacher led Topics are as follows: (Monday's group will be a week behind Wednesday's group. Dates below are for Wed. group.) Week of Oct. 8- What makes your heart sing?
