It is time to go into the unknown as we meet new friends and practice our social skills! In this one-time class we will get to talk about, "Frozen" and friendship! Students will practice basic socials skills, such as taking turns, listening to the speaker, answering a question appropriately, and adding to a conversation. We will have fun talking about of favorite characters and what makes them so special and how they can show us how to be a good friend! During our discussion learners are welcome to draw a picture of their favorite character. At the end of class we will add to our picture showing how they can be a good friend. During the class we will practice using our watching eyes, listening ears, and catching our bubble when it is not our turn to speak. Class Format Greetings Show and Tell Frozen Discussion (characters, songs, movies, etc) What Makes A Good Friend (Using our favorite characters) Picture Drawing Goodbyes MUTING POLICY This is a social skills class and my goal is for everyone to practice listening and taking turns. We will do our best to use our listening ears, watching eyes, and catching our bubble. However, this is not always possible and some learners may need a little more practice which is perfectly normal! Students will be given reminders to listen to their friends after 3 reminders they will be muted and will be able to unmute when it is their turn to speak. If there is excessive background noise the learner will be muted.
