If your learner likes to socialize while also coloring or drawing, this is the perfect class! Grab a coloring page of choice and come join me! In this one time class, learners will have the opportunity to meet and talk to other students with the same interest of coloring or drawing! Class will start with an introduction where learners will have an opportunity to share something about themselves. Throughout the duration of the class, learners will participate in discussion with others. Teacher will facilitate conversations while allowing the students to discuss topics of interest. Teacher will also encourage discussion if needed. Topics related to the class that may be discussed include different types of art, favorite colors, favorite things to draw/color, other hobbies, etc. At the end of class each learner will have an opportunity to show their work! This class will focus on utilizing social skills such as respect, listening to others, turn taking, communication and speaking. We will also focus on fun as well! If your learner enjoys this one-time class, consider joining my on-going version where we meet once a week to color/draw and chat! Meeting weekly allows learners to form lasting connections with peers!

Hello! My name is Lauren and I am excited to be teaching here on Outschool! I am looking forward to teaching early childhood development classes - preschool math, literacy, social skills and more! I have worked with children/students of all ages. My primary focus is with young children as I have a bachelors degree in elementary education (prek - 4th) which I obtained through Grand Canyon University. I have spent the last 10 years working in an early childhood development center, primarily working with children ages 2-4. During these last 10 years I have developed and implemented curriculum across many content areas. Aside from teaching, I am a color guard instructor at both the middle and high school levels.
I think learning is all about having fun, especially with the younger children! My experience of running an early childhood classroom will aide me in providing fun and engaging lessons here on Outschool as well!
When I am not coaching or teaching, I am busy being a wife and a mom! My husband and I have a seven year old son who is currently in second grade and an infant daughter. My older son is very involved in sports, which means I am too! I also enjoy reading, journaling, and watching tv.
