Class Experience

Learners will be able to identify and articulate short-term and long-term goals related to their college search.
Learners will be able to select at least 5 colleges that could be potential fits for their future education.
Learners will understand how admission applications are reviewed and how admission decisions are made by admission offices.
Learners will understand how to attend virtual campus visits and information sessions.
Learners will be able to draft a personalized Action Plan for their college search.
I served as a college admission officer for more than 10 years. During that time I have reviewed thousands of college applications. I have also worked as a high school College Counselor for three years assisting young students on their college search. In addition, I have been a college faculty member teaching online-based courses with college freshmen and high school students enrolled for college credit.
Learners will have an exploration-type assignment each week related to that week's theme. This will often require independent research on the Internet and visiting various colleges' websites. Timeframe: 1-2 hours per week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
