Welcome to College Prep Writing Crash Course: Using AI Tools Responsibly!

In this one-time session, students will do a deep dive into the ins and outs of AI tools and their use in writing, specifically highlighting the ways students can and cannot use AI within their own projects. By the end of class, students will be able to explain the responsible use of AI tools in academic writing, identify the limitations of AI in producing reliable content, and evaluate the dangers of using AI in writing.

During class, students will cover a handful of AI tools that work to help them clean up their own writing and will work through examples of AI generated content to highlight the concerns over AI writing student work.

Master's Degree in History from University of Colorado at Boulder
I have been teaching at the university level for several years, and have graded and edited hundreds of papers from college freshmen. I hope to help develop writing skills in high school aged children in this class to prevent many of the common errors I see in university papers!
