Description

Class Experience

Students will learn from my years of experience how to select a realistic college application list, how to put their best selves forward in the application process, and how and why to keep on top of the process so they complete their applications on time or early and do not get overwhelmed senior year.
Not applicable; not a sensitive or high risk topic (please see below for more info about my qualifications.).
There is no homework per se, but I expect that students will take what they produce in the workshop and share their list with parents and high school counselors, that they will continue to work on their personal statements, and that they will try to adhere to the schedule they set for themselves regarding college applications, financial aid, etc.
 1 file available upon enrollment
I would like students to fill out a questionnaire prior to starting.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no formal assessment, but I will offer candid feedback on the schools they select and the topics they are picking for their personal statements.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents may want to weigh in on the colleges and universities they are selecting since finances could be a consideration for them. I expect that students will talk to their parents about the list, as well as their high school counselors.
We will use the search site College Board Big Future, and we will be looking at college websites and the FAFSA and CSS Profile websites.
