Class Experience
🌟 General 🌟 Is your teen learner struggling to get organized for the college application process? Do you hear them say, “I don’t know what to write!” when you remind them to start their college essay? If so, this course is for your learner! In this 8-week course, students will: ✓ Research and organize application information for their top-choice schools ✓ Evaluate prompts from the Common and Coalition Apps, as well as from specific schools, in order to choose the best one for them ✓...
This class is taught in English.
Students will end the course with the second draft of their college essay, with written feedback from at least one peer and the teacher.
There will be homework each week. All activities will be centered around preparing for, writing, or revising the college essay.
At the end of the course, I will provide written, individualized feedback to each student, along with a mock college essay rubric for their use.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
I will be providing resources and handouts at every step of the way to help students stay on track and produce effective work.
