Come along and develop your instinct and your unique voice as an actor. Actors cultivate a strong artistic identity and discover/explore who they are as a storyteller through a variety of scenes and exercises. Students will read as a class the script, and then we will focus on one or two scenes to pair up and cold read. We will begin by reading the list of scripts below, all age appropriate, and scenes below chosen by learners and teacher in class. If students wish to read other scripts not listed below, we will agree and choose accordingly. December/January: Scenes from Little Women February/March: Scenes from Pride and Prejudice April/May: Scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean June/July: Scenes from Sherlock August/September: Scenes from Matilda October/November: Wicked For later times: Scenes from Once Upon A Time and Scenes from Election Be present and/or fearless qualities in your work. Learn to find your ability to tell the truth and move your audience. This class gets you out of your head and into the moment: freeing the actor’s natural impulses. Play the moment. Find empathy. Take Risks. Learn to connect and tell the truth. Feel confident taking direction and making adjustments. Learn to trust yourself and others. *This is an ongoing class, meeting once a week. Each week we will do a different script. There are no prerequisites for any classes, meaning you do not need to take them in any order. You may take one class or all of the classes, however many you choose. Try it out and see and if your child would like to keep practicing then he/she can continue. You may cancel your weekly subscription anytime.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Students!
My name is Christina. I am half Spanish and half American. I live in Los Angeles. I grew up traveling the world. I lived in Germany for 6 years as a child. I speak Spanish. I am a former pre-school and elementary school teacher with over 10 years experience who taught in the US, Spain and England.
My teaching philosophy is based in the Reggio Emilia approach, which is an educational philosophy and pedagogy focusing on student-centered and constructivist self-guided curriculum that uses self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments. Reggio Emilia approach is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration, discovery and play.
I love teaching. The things I love teaching the most are making up a story and acting it out, how to speak in a British accent, play acting in a British accent, and moving and acting to music, as well as Spanish and Shakespeare.
I am an actress in LA. In LA, have been on network TV shows such as Good Trouble, American Housewife, Transparent and Criminal Minds. In London, I have extensive professional theatre experience. I performed in many Shakespearean plays such as The Merry Wives of Windsor, Macbeth, The Winter’s Tale, As You Like It, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, to name a few as well as several Oscar Wilde plays, Restoration plays such as The Country Wife, and contemporary plays such as The Shape of Things and Three Birds Alighting on a Field along many others.
I have my teacher's certification for pre-school and elementary school with an ESL endorsement. I also have a double BA in English Literature and Anthropology from the University of Virginia. I graduated from Drama Studio London, in the UK where I was awarded the Peter Howitt scholarship. I also attended RADA in London.
I love to instill confidence, leadership, community, creativity and fun in all of my classes. Learn with me and we will have fun and you will learn skills that you will remember forever. My fluffy cat Bongo might join us too!
