US Grade Kindergarten - 3
The short pre-recorded lessons include a powerpoint presentation introducing each coin. I will also share a song for the coins that tells the name of the President on each coin and it's worth. We will discuss physical traits of the coin and practice counting and identifying the coins. It is helpful if the student can skip count by 5s and 10s. After each lesson, students can respond to the discussion questions. At the end of the course, each student can post a drawing of each coin discussed a label it with the appropriate amount and name for the teacher and other students to comment on. Students are welcome to post any questions they have about the content at any time.
Learning Goals
At the end of this course, students will be able to identify the following for each coin:
- The name of the President's on the front
- The symbol on the back
- The color of the coin
- The value of the coin
