I have been teaching CogAT classes for over 5 years. I have been a lifelong teacher mostly at college level until my daughter took the test and I had not known what the test was and how it would impact my daughter's career as a student and future. I was lucky that she scored well and was enrolled in gifted talented classes. Later on my frustration as a parent surfaced again when we were in search of a middle school and some MST or STEM schools required a minimum score on the CogAT test. We were still lucky since she had the scores needed but what would have happened if we were not that lucky? I then decided to start creating workshops to help students prepare for the test ahead of time. Even though I am new to Outschool.com, I already received great news from my students and I am so happy to be able to make a difference in their lives and contribute to their career as a student and their futures. I am a life-long learner and teacher. I graduated from Istanbul American Robert College (a high school registered in NY) and then moved on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Systems Science in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and to Oklahoma State for Masters in Mathematics and MBA. I spent most of my years tutoring English and Mathematics to help pay my way through college. I have been a graduate teaching assistant in College of Business, Mathematics and Athletics Departments during graduate school. In addition to my carrier in information technology and project management, I continued to teach at several universities such as University of Phoenix and Sullivan University and served on the curriculum boards and several professional organizations such as Project Management Institute. My teams won Future Problem Solving and Future City Engineering Competition competitions. I discovered Russian School of Mathematics also when my daughter was in elementary school where I was invited to join as a math coach as well. I continue to make a difference with helping students improve their SAT/ACT/PSAT scores, coaching at debate competitions and clubs. I am the mother of two children one of which created her lemonade business in which I helped her and her business partners create their business plans. I enjoy learning as well as teaching a wide variety of classes including Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, CogAT Cognitive Apptitute Test for gifted talented, PSAT/SAT/ACT test prep, project management, computer programming, web development, project management and Micosoft Office products and crafts (I enjoy crafts!). I look forward to meeting you and your child soon!
