Class Experience

This is a one-on-one class suitable for learners of ALL experiences. This class is suitable for:

-New or very beginning learners to Scratch, who want or need more support than a traditional group class to build their confidence.
-Intermediate Scratchers who need tips or tricks to complete their project visions.
-Advanced students who either need help achieving very specific ideas, or want challenging concepts to try.
-Learners who enjoys connected, one-on-one tutoring style learning, or who want a safe space to test out ideas with someone who can offer input and alternatives.

Learners age 7 and under are typically recommended to use Scratch Jr. and those older than 7 to use Scratch, but this can vary. Please reach out if you are unsure of you learner's level and I can recommend what will work best!

I will ask learners to share their screen on Zoom and I will annotate it to show them where to go, what to click, and what to add step by step.

Please send me a schedule request to set a time that works for you if the listed ones don't, and a message detailing what you're interested in going over so that I can best prepare for our session.

I am happy to offer discounts for multi-learner private classes for learning pods or siblings!

Master's Degree in Education from University of Colorado - Denver
Hi! I'm Soleil (so-LAY) and I teach a variety of classes here at Outschool, from engineering and coding, to improv and performing basics. I have so many different passions, and love showing kids that they can explore multiple interests, too.

I have been a teacher in various formal and informal roles for several years now, and hold a Master's degree in Learning, Developmental, and Family Sciences with an Early Childhood emphasis. I'm a state certified teacher for birth-6th grade, but I love working with people of all ages!

My classes are student-led and inquiry-driven, and no two are the same for that very reason. I believe in following children, and see myself as a collaborator who scaffolds thinking, not as a directive leader. Any time I can give my students a voice and a chance to lead, I do! I follow Reggio-inspired principles and believe in connecting first and foremost with my students, as well as giving them the opportunity to connect with each other.

I love inspiring new ideas and ways of thinking, and feel so much joy in seeing children grow as makers, thinkers, performers, and creators. I can't wait to see you in class!
