Lesson is aimed for students who have experience with Scratch Jr. Students will work on the basics of programming, problem solving and critical thinking skills with Scratch Jr. In this one time class, students will listen to story: The Gingerbread Man Illustrated by Gail Yerrill Students will create a retell of the story using Scratch Jr. Teacher will model first as students complete the following: - add characters to multiple pages - create and modify a character - modify background - use code to move characters - use hide command - add voice to characters Students will need to download the app: Scratch Jr. before class. App available on iPad and Chromebook. Please join class using a different device so students can view teacher's screen as we code.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.Reviews
