Class Experience

We will use the program 'scratch' to create an animated character party with sounds. No experience of scratch necessary. The lesson is taught step-by-step (I will demonstrate each step to the class before they work on it) and we progress together.

Themes available- Roblox, Pokemon dinosaur and LOL dolls!

Students will be taught:
How to create a scratch project
How to add sprites
How to animate sprites
How to add music

It will be a very interactive session- I will work with you to build your party and we will share our screens with others too.

Scratch is web based coding software. You can access it here... https://scratch.mit.edu/ You should have a free account with scratch ready for class. I suggest that you log in and open scratch prior to class to ensure there are no problems. You should have a device to log into the outschool class and another to use for Scratch. Screen sharing will be necessary to ensure students are all accessing the instructions well and progressing together.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome to my teaching profile. I am a British teacher and I specialize in offering social and creative classes for children. I am an inclusive, engaging, and fun educator. I encourage you to take a moment to read through my reviews to get a sense of what other parents have experienced in my classes.
My approach to teaching places your child at the centre of the learning experience. I believe in fostering positive relationships with my students to ensure that they leave each class feeling included and happy.
Inclusivity is a core value of mine, and I take great pride in it. I'm dedicated to creating the best possible experience for your child in my classes. I have an easy-going teaching style and aim to make learning enjoyable. I also encourage both students and parents to communicate with me as much as needed. In the world of remote classes, there are no silly questions, and I understand that visualizing online learning can be challenging.
If your child has any specific learning preferences or needs, please reach out to me before the class. I'm committed to ensuring that every student can access and benefit from my classes. For example, if English is an additional language for your child, I'm more than happy to provide keyword sheets in advance if requested.
My background includes 14 years of classroom experience, and my training is focussed on Design and Technology, but expands to roles in Special Education. I taught in UK classrooms until 2020, and now I exclusively teach on Outschool, where I'm excited to continue nurturing young minds.
