Class Experience
Students will learn the basics of Python coding using a free online tool. Required Items: * Computer * Free PythonAnywhere.com account - https://www.pythonanywhere.com/ Weekly session topics will be learner-dictated at the start of each class. Each week the students will pick a topic to explore at the beginning of the class. I am an Information Technology professional with more than 25 years' experience working in technology, leadership, and mentoring. I have been involved with coaching sports teams, technology teams and Boy Scouts. I have taught more than 460 learners on the Outschool platform. I love sharing my passion and knowledge of science and technology with kids of all ages. I have taught many science and space classes and camps for kids over the years. I love to research and take things apart to see how they work. I am excited to have your child join my class!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
During the class your student will use the website https://www.pythonanywhere.com/. Python Anywhere is a resource where your student may sign up for a free account. During class your student will code Python in a web console and will be asked to share their session (only the PythonAnywhere console will be shared) with the teacher. The teacher will be able to view your student's code as they type and offer instruction real-time.
