Coding Games with Scratch

In this 10-week live, online course, students will learn how to code their own game using Scratch, the drag-and-drop learning platform created by MIT Media Lab.

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the basics of coding and create their own game, the game development life cycle, and more. Students will learn how to deconstruct a problem into steps needed to solve it. They will learn about events, conditionals, loops, debugging, procedures, and algorithms. 

In the process of the class, students will also develop their 21st century skills of: 
- Critical Thinking
- Teamwork
- Creativity
- Collaboration
- Social Skills
No homework is assigned, but students may continue working on their projects outside of class time. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students must be able to access to code. We may also use to create custom sprites for student games.
