1 hour per week. They will be given a scenario and have to create code to solve it.Class Experience
Students will learn how to do basic coding using blocks. They will review the online coding environment and playgrounds to be used during this camp. Since there are no student accounts and no installation required for access to vr.vex.com, we will review the steps to save and create programs. Then, they will use Blockly coding to designed programs to manipulate a virtual VEX robot. Each day after a lesson that covers events, loops, or conditions, students will write a simple program that changes the online robot in some way. Students will be assigned daily homework that they can do alone or with a partner. During class, they will review their program with the teacher and the class.
Learning Goals
During this class, students will do the following.
1. Learn the basic blocks of Blockly programming,
2. Define VEX devices
3. Develop code to move an online robot
4. Short lessons covering events, loops, and conditions for various playgrounds.
5. Use different sensors to manipulate the robot
