Welcome CodeCrafters!

In this exciting course, we'll dive into the world of Minecraft: Education Edition and explore the endless possibilities of coding using Microsoft's MakeCode and block coding. Whether you're an experienced Minecraft player or new to the game, this class is designed for learners of all levels. New to coding? No problem! We'll get you started and you'll be hooked.

Minecraft: Education Edition is not only a fun and engaging platform but also a powerful educational tool that fosters creativity and helps develop essential skills. Through coding, learners will unlock new ways to interact with the Minecraft world, solve problems, and bring their imaginative ideas to life.

Each session will begin with learners introducing themselves and sharing their ideas. We will be accessing the various pre-built worlds that are exclusive to Minecraft: Education Edition. Learners will learn how to code through various tutorials and experiments using MakeCode, a feature exclusive to Minecraft EDU. Learners will have the opportunity to communicate via voice chat in breakout groups for team projects and use the in-game chat for collaborative coding experiences.

Please Note: To participate in the class, learners will need access to Minecraft Education Edition using an account issued through my class. Don't worry about having your own Microsoft Education account—I'll provide the necessary access by covering the cost of an annual membership for learners. Learners will receive their log in information prior to the beginning of class.

With no fixed weekly plan, learners will have the chance to decide what they want to code and create at the beginning of each session, allowing for personalized and student-driven learning experiences.

Join us for a thrilling Minecraft coding journey where we'll unleash our creativity, conquer challenges, and become master coders in the blocky world of Minecraft Education!
