Helping students discover their talents, passions, and strengths is one of the things that brings me the greatest fulfillment in life. Encouraging students to find a way to plug those talents into their learning is a vital part of who I am. As a Gifted and Talented Specialist and FIRST LEGO League Robotics coach, I spent countless hours helping elementary school aged children discover the wonder of learning through play. My work as a Gifted and Talented Specialist taught me the importance of inspiring children to look beyond the obvious to the abstract and helped me to see the joy that comes when children are given opportunities to discover new learning through collaborative, open ended problem solving. I love supporting learners as they discover their hidden strengths, find ways to "stay in the struggle" and enjoy the journey that is learning!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
