Students will learn some intermediate coding skills with block coding on the Scratch program. They will learn how to code a cute virtual pet. Students will choose an animal to be their virtual pet. They will learn some coding vocabulary such as algorithm, conditional, and loop. They will use control blocks and sound blocks. They will also learn to feed the pet and create a code to keep track. This is perfect for coding intermediates. The teaching style of this class will be me showing an example of a completed project. After that, we will work through the steps to code a virtual pet that they can feed.

I teach book clubs, coding classes, and STEM classes. I have been teaching for 15 years. I've taught kindergarten to fifth. I am a gifted education teacher. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education, Gifted Education, and Educational Leadership. I believe in active learning, learning through practical experience, and making learning fun!
