Have you ever been in a group of new people and gotten completely tongue-tied? I mean, you’re in a group of complete strangers (both boys and girls) and you have no idea what to say or even how to get started in a conversation with them? Did you ever think, “What if they laugh at me or think I’m stupid”? Co-Ed conversations are hard and scary but they don’t have to be! We’ve all been in this situation where we’ve been afraid to start conversations with new people. Trust me, this happens to adults just as often as it does with teenagers. But in this ongoing class we are going to learn the basics of conversation starters and how to keep a conversation going. We’re going to make some new friends and really learn to value having good conversations. We’re also going to learn about topics that might not be appropriate for every group. We will use props, conversation starter cards, games, and stories to build relationships and have great conversations. This class is open to young ladies and gentlemen. These ongoing classes are completely judgment-free, so leave all negative energy at the door. Some of the topics we will explore are: - starting a conversation with the opposite sex - how to join a group already formed - how to handle rejection - when to use humor - using your life stories to connect with others - why we need to respect others’ opinions - how not to monopolize the conversation - when to speak up or keep quiet - when to leave the conversation - how to leave on a good note

Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings!
My name is Ms. Brown. I teach etiquette, writing, editing, soft skills, reading, adulting, business, and leadership.
Like you, I love learning new things and value education for all ages. I believe learning happens everywhere and not just in a school room or university. If you open your eyes, ears, mind and heart, you can learn everywhere!
I have an associates degree in journalism and writing; a bachelor's degree in business management; and a masters degree in international relations and diplomacy. I also have certificates in digital media marketing as well as etiquette, manners, and international protocol.
I am the mom of a college age son who sometimes gets tired of his mom always correcting his grammar and table manners. And I have a very well behaved chocolate lab dog named Emily (after one of my favorite authors, Emily Bronte).
