Club Spanish Course 3: Animal Adventure

In this four week course, students will learn how to say the names of many different animals in Spanish. Students will also be able to describe the animals in Spanish. On day one, students will learn the Spanish words for six different pets. They will also learn eight adjectives they can use to describe them. We will talk about how to properly use adjectives in Spanish. Students will also be introduced to phonics. There will be a short reading section where students will practice pronouncing words correctly in Spanish. At the end of the first class there will be a short homework assignment. Day two will focus on farm animals. We will review the vocabulary from day one. Students will be introduced to six farm animals in Spanish. They will learn five more adjectives in Spanish that they can use to describe the animals. We will continue to practice using adjectives correctly in Spanish. Students will also be introduced to several question words. A short homework assignment will be give at the end of class. Day three will focus on wild animals. We will review all vocabulary learned so far. Students will be introduced to eight wild animals in Spanish. They will learn four more adjectives in Spanish that they can use to describe animals. We will continue to practice using adjectives correctly in Spanish. Students will be introduced to basic conjunctions in Spanish. At the end of class students will be given an assignment that they will present on day four in Spanish. Day four will focus on sea animals. We will review all vocabulary learned so far. Students will be introduced to six sea animals. They will learn four more adjectives in Spanish that they can use to describe animals. We will continue to practice using adjectives correctly in Spanish. During the last half of the class, students will present their presentations and we will participate in a short escape room. We utilize slides, discussion, and games in this class. The goal for the class is to get the students talking as much as possible. Having a knowledge of basic Spanish such as colors and numbers is beneficial, but no prior Spanish knowledge is required for this course.
Learning Goals
Students will have a basic understanding of Spanish grammar and phonics. Students will be able to make simple sentences using the vocabulary from this unit.
