Calling all Disney fans... we need you at Club Disney! Each week I will start the club meeting with some fun Disney facts, pictures, or trivia! From there we will discuss Disney topics that the group is interested in. Some of the topics we will discuss are attractions, food at the parks, characters, pin trading, and more! Our discussions will allow students to practice public speaking and communication skills while talking about Disney parks. If they would like, students are welcome to bring their own Disney knowledge to share. This would also be a great club for students who will be visiting Disney soon and want to learn more about all there is to see and do while there. This is an ongoing, once a week club. At the end of the meeting, we will brainstorm Disney discussion topics that we are interested in talking about at the next club meeting. Session topics will be learner-directed or dictated weekly due to current events and happenings in Disney news. A sample class will include sharing of Disney items and experiences by learners, discussion of what is new in Disney News, and any other Disney topics that students bring up in discussion. Sometimes we play trivia games or have Disney "tournaments" to decide the best character, attraction, or something else Disney. The class is very much lead by the interests of the learners! No supplies are needed for class, but learners are welcome to bring Disney items to share if they wish. Disney shirts and/or Ears are optional, but encouraged to bring the excitement of Disney to our club. Here is an example of our weekly club meetings: (Subject to change) Week 1: Discuss favorite Disney parks and other happenings in Disney news Week 2: Discuss favorite Disney attractions and other happenings in Disney news Week 3,: Discuss favorite Disney snacks and other happenings in Disney news Week 4: Discuss favorite Disney movies and other happenings in Disney news
Learning Goals

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Jeanne Schoening. I am excited to offer courses in writing, reading, math, science, and social studies for elementary students on Outschool. My classes will have a thematic approach and will include topics that are high interest for children. As a result, you will often find a bit of reading or writing hiding in my science and social studies lessons.
I have been teaching for 27 years in a public school, where I am currently a second grade teacher. I also have experience teaching Kindergarten through fifth grade students in all subject areas. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University, where I also minored in Environmental Science and History. I also have a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University. Furthermore, I have countless hours of Professional Development and am always looking for ways to improve my teaching!
I believe all children can learn, given the right encouragement and instruction, yet they all learn at their own pace. I also believe that learning should be developmentally appropriate, with hands on activities and real world connections.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and travel. I am a mom of four wonderful children, well three are actually young adults. Together we love to camp, visit National Parks, cruise, and go to Disney (my favorite). I am a Disney fanatic and collector, as well as a Disney College of Knowledge graduate!
I hope to meet your child in my virtual classroom soon!
