This ongoing course is for intermediate level American Sign Language students, who have previously developed ASL skills. We will explore Deaf culture, Deaf history, and the importance of community within American Sign Language. We will engage in voices-off sign language chats in order to develop and retain American Sign Language skills. Students will practice expressive and receptive American Sign Language skills. Students will further develop skills in order to become proficient and fluent in American Sign Language.

Samoan Cooper is a certified sign language interpreter in the state of Texas. Samoan is a former high school American Sign Language teacher. Samoan graduated from college with an American Sign Language Communication Skills certificate, an Associate of Science Degree, a Bachelor of Science degree, and currently attending school for a Master of Education degree which will be completed May of 2022. Samoan has over 11 years of experience interpreting and teaching American Sign Language in the education field, and over 23 years of learning and developing fluency in ASL.
