Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this 6-week Self Paced (asynchronous/no live meetings) class, your student will be challenged to utilize deeper mathematical thinking.☻ Each session will provide your learner with pre-recorded, guided instruction and practice problems for challenging topics that, if not mastered, could impede their mathematical development. ➱This class is great for students who: ~have learning "gaps" from previous years ~prefer to study independently ~are unable to attend live classes as scheduled ~need additional time and space to process concepts/materials ➱Your student will first be sent a pre-recorded video presentation of the teacher explicitly teaching the strategy/concept. Then, they will have the opportunity to practice the skill that was taught by completing an activity. Viewing mistakes as learning opportunities will also be discussed. We believe it is important to reflect upon mistakes and use the knowledge to improve ourselves for the future. ➱After viewing the video, students will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts with the teacher. The assignments for this class are meant to be fun and engaging! In addition, students may have the opportunity to "teach the teacher" what they have learned. A variety of 3rd party (Outschool Approved) apps MAY be used to achieve this goal. If so, parents will be notified prior to the corresponding class and given the opportunity to consent. Please Note: Asynchronous courses allow learners to cover the material at times that are convenient for them. They will have the opportunity to pause, rewind, and/or re-watch the lesson as many times as they need to solidify the learning objectives. Your learner is invited to check in with the teacher during any point of the course via the Outschool classroom message feature.
