Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Learn how to influence your dog's behavior with clicker training. In this one time private lesson, you will practice how to introduce your dog to clicker training and apply it to influence behavior. Clicker training is a type of positive reinforcement training. The methodology of clicker training will be discussed. For this class, you will need your dog or puppy, a clicker, and some yummy treats your dog loves. This is a live training session. The instructor will guide you in practicing how to introduce your dog to the clicker, and ways to apply it. If there are specific wants or needs in training, those issues can be addressed. The instructor has worked with her own dogs, as well as other people and their dogs, on clicker training at a canine facility. She uses positive reinforcement methods to train and compete with her dogs in agility, obedience, trick training, and nosework.

Hello! My name is Amy Rovtar Payne. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and have previously taught in the school system for several years. I live on a farm with lots of animals, where I follow my passion of training feral mustangs. I am a certified horseback riding instructor and enjoy teaching others to ride. When my schedule allows, I judge horse shows. I actively compete and am a title holder in dog sports such as agility, nosework, obedience and rally. I am studying to become an agility judge with the UKI. Currently I also work in a canine rehab center, where I lead hydrotherapy sessions and am a certified laser technician. Another one of my hobbies is writing, and I am a published author of non-fiction and poetry. I'm excited to share my knowledge with others!
