Hello! In this One-Time class, learners ages 5-9 will explore contractions in a fun and interactive way! We will discuss contractions that we've seen in sentences and the purpose of the apostrophe in contractions. We will first explore common contractions and then discuss lesser known contractions. We will match words with their contraction form, write words with contractions, and play a game with contractions! I believe meeting students where they are at academically is so important and I will be accessing throughout class to determine the next direction that instruction should take. I also believe it is paramount that learning be engaging, so we will be having fun in class! Please join me on this journey of Clever Contractions! I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!

I am a certified K-5 teacher and licensed to teach all core subjects. I have experience with using many methods of Reading and Math intervention. I am ADD+Vantage math trained and have experience writing and carrying out IEPs for students. I taught in the classroom for six years and have been teaching a total of 10 years and counting.
A majority of my experience in the classroom has been teaching ELL learners and this is an area that I am passionate about. I hold a Foundational and Advanced TESOL certification and have training in many programs for ELL students.
