This one-time, step-by-step clay crafting class is fun and informative. It is hands-on, please check the supply list. Everyone will create their own adorable red panda charm during class. After class, it will be ready to be baked or cured (please follow the curing directions for your particular clay, parental assistance may be needed for baking). It can be enjoyed as-is or an eye-pin can be added before baking which will allow it to be placed on a backpack charm ring, necklace, etc. *Multi-learner classes will be discounted from the listed price. Enroll in a class with another learner or invite a friend! We will start by working the clay into a moldable consistency. We will divide out the proportions needed for each color and learn how to mix custom colors. Our main focus will be on creating smooth shapes and adding small details. This class is appropriate for any experience level but is most suitable for students with some clay experience. I will be present on a face camera throughout the class and will share a second camera showing my hands while sculpting the craft. Students can ask questions or converse throughout class and can stay unmuted as long as it is not disruptive. *Please check the supply list. *Listed class time is a minimum. Class may go longer to ensure everyone finishes their creation.

Hello everyone!
If you see a class you like but the time doesn't work, I'm happy to work with your schedule. Even if you are in a different time zone or my automatic availability isn't open at a certain time, reach out and there is a good chance I can make something work for you.
A bit about me and my teaching style:
I am passionate about art and creativity. Even more so, I love to inspire that in others. It's not about talent or skills you were born with, it's all about expressing yourself and growing your talent through practice and guidance. I believe everyone has the ability to create masterpieces and should have the freedom to find their own way of making them. I teach with a step-by-step demonstration approach while encouraging students to do it their own way whenever they feel ready to do so. This approach allows for wonderfully blended classes where the less experienced or shy learners can follow along with me and the bolder ones can work in their own way alongside us. Either way, we all end up with unique art we can be proud of and improved knowledge about the art/craft process we are practicing.
My classes are designed to be highly interactive and engaging with questions & answers throughout as well as hands-on activities. Be sure to check the supply list for each class because learners get the best experience when they are ready to learn with every material needed for the class.
In addition to my bachelor's degree in biology, I have a Graphic Arts certificate which I earned from Autry Technology Center. I earned 1st place in state (Oklahoma) and 6th nationally in the 2001 National Skills USA Championship competition in graphic communications. I teach the arts of drawing and painting to adults online on a voluntary basis. I also teach arts and crafts to children as a professional online and as a volunteer in person.
I have over 3 years of online teaching experience with students 4-17 years old. I have also worked with children in person in a variety of settings from my current position as a children's church leader to volunteering in afterschool care for at-risk children.
