Description
Class Experience
In this class, students will learn basic pottery techniques including pinch, coil and slab while they create their own hand built head bust based on their own imagination. Students are welcome to create the head bust of their own character or favorite book or movie character. Students will interact with the teacher, as they go step-by-step through each process. Students are encouraged to participate through class discussion and interact with the teacher and class. At the end of class,...
After the project is dry, students are encouraged to paint their piece of pottery using acrylic or tempera paint. A clear gloss can be applied after the paint has dried for a shine.
10 lbs Air Dry Clay (Crayola has a great product) Gallon Size Ziplock bags (2) Table covering Cup with water Sharp pencil Popsicle stick (or clay tools) Small dry sponge Spray bottle with water Garlic press (optional- used to press out hair) Image of the bust the student wishes to create (past students have created Medusa and Mona Lisa)
1 hour per week in class, and no time outside of class.
