In this one time class, we will use clay to create our own jar/container with a dragon friend! We will make our creation step-by-step. No one will be rushed or left behind. In my classes, I tell students that my creation is just an example of what they can make - they are encouraged to use their imaginations and creativity! They can make any changes or substitutions they want. Students can keep their microphones on, so they can socialize with me and the other students throughout the...
- Clay * ** - Small Jar or Container *** - Aluminum foil - Scissors (with parent permission) - Pencil or Clay Tools Optional Supplies: - Clay Tools - Clay Glaze or Mod-Podge (to be applied outside of class once your creation has been baked or dried) * Any type of clay can be used in this class (air dry, Play-Doh, model magic, polymer) - for the best results I recommend a polymer clay. ** If you are using a polymer clay, you will need to warm it up before class starts - move it around and play with it in your hands. Some polymer clay can be very hard before it is used! *** Students will need a jar or small container (glass yogurt jar, mini mason jar, small candle jar, etc). If you are using a polymer or other type of ‘bake’ clay, you MUST use a glass container - plastic will melt when placed in the oven.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
