Let's chat and get our hands dirty! This class will help your beginning artist gain confidence in their sculpting skills. To begin class students will introduce themselves and we will go over class rules. From here will discuss the weekly sculpting prompts ( listed below). Students will gather their supplies and clay colors as I visually display examples of the weeks prompt. This class will be a very social class as we create along side each other. I will encourage students to talk amongst each other with simple and fun questions. I will be working along with the students showing different techniques, how to use tools and answering questions as we go. My teaching style is all about fun! This will be a calm and relaxing environment where students have the freedom to create and talk with other artists. I will encourage students to use their imagination and creativity to make each sculpture their own. Hello and Welcome! My name is Ashlee. I am a passionate, friendly and practicing educator from the state of Michigan, USA. I'm a 34 year old mom of 1, lover of animals, food, coffee, art and music.
My passion is working with children in a fun and exciting way, leading to a positive learning experience. I have strong relationship building skills and truly enjoy being able to watch my students develop new skills and confidence. My classroom is an all inclusive space. I welcome all races, family structures, religions, sexual orientations, genders and disabilities.
My passions lie in art and working with my hands using ceramics, air dry clay, polymer clay, wire sculpting, crochet and gardening. Outside of Outschool, I own my own photography business. I have been in business for three years and continue to grow in that practice.
I have been working with children for 10+ years with ages ranging from infancy to teenagers. I currently hold my TESOL Certificate and teach ESL (English as a Second Language) courses online. I have taught over 2,600 class virtually to over 700 students! I have worked in a school setting, daycare, and ran my own after school program. One of my favorite parts of being an international educator is that it allows me to learn along side my students. I hope to continue to discover new things through my time with your learner.
My artistic accomplishments include a hand painted tile installation at a local women's shelter and my ceramic work is currently being shown in a local gallery. I like to explore materials and use them in unconventional ways.
With my background, being a practicing artist and love for being a life long learner I will continue to incorporate a variety of classes and mediums to my portfolio. I hope to instill the same love of learning and excitement of personal growth into my students.
I look forward to building an excellent student-teacher relationship with your child and I can't wait to see them in my classroom!
