In this semester-long 14 week literature class, learners will discuss, analyze, and write about the timeless classic, The Twenty-One Balloons by William Pene du Bois. This class is suitable for strong 6th, 7th, and 8th grade readers.
Class experience
If you like inventions and quality, classic literature, this class is for you! We will be doing an in-depth, chapter-by-chapter reading of The Twenty-One Balloons outside of class and analyzing the story together in class. I am a certified teacher who has 7 years of experience in the classroom, both in public school and in a classical school. I have been teaching virtually for several years and have 7 years of experience homeschooling. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Library Media Science Education.

Different cultures are presented in this book in a way that was common for the time period the book was written. We will not be discussing this in-depth but some students may be aware of this and we can discuss differences in how we discuss diversity now versus how it was written about many years ago by authors.
