The students will gain and/or further their understanding of ancient civilizations including the commonalities and differences between them. They will also gain an understanding of how these civilizations have impacted our futures today.
I studied geography and history at a very well known university in Canada named Guelph University. Here I took many classes on ancient civilizations including, Rome, Greece, China, and India. During these lectures, I gained a deep understanding of each of these civilizations and how they have impacted the development of the world. Not only that but I studied economics which helped me understand that these civilizations were the first to start economic development. I have a deep understanding of these civilizations and how they are similar but also different. This is an introductory course for young teens to spark interest in Social Studies and how the world has come to be what it is today. I will be teaching on ancient civilizations and how they have impacted our lives today. We will look at what type of government they use, what their social structure is like, for example, who has the most power, and what they like to do in their spare time (culture). I have studied this for many years and have taken 3 courses on this at a university level. I have an in-depth understanding of this information however this class will only be an introduction.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
