Class Experience

My teaching style is student-centered. I encourage class discussion and try and get the students to ask their own questions. We will be reading 2 chapters each class. There will be time at the end for class discussion and various activities related to what we have read. Some such activities include; discussing vocabulary from the text, talking about the different characters that we meet, and determining the moral of the story. Students will interact with each other as they ask and answer questions.
We will be reading two chapters each class and have class discussions over these chapters.
Week 1 day 1: Chapters 1-2
Week 1 day 2: Chapters 3-4
Week 2 day 1: Chapters 5-6
Week 2 day 2: Chapters 7-8
Week 3 day 1: Chapters 9-10
Week 3 day 2: Chapters 11-12

This class will be a great way to introduce students to beloved classics, help them grow their joy for reading, and allow them to interact with other students and build on their social skills. The age range is flexible, any student that would enjoy reading classic novels is welcome.
