Class Mini: Trial Private Lesson for Flute, Clarinet, Recorder, Voice or Piano!

This class mini is meant to serve as a trial lesson for families interested in enrolling their children in ongoing private lessons. Please be advised that the suggested age ranges for each choice of instrument are as follows...
-Piano & Keyboard Lessons: Ages 5-18
-Singing & Voice Lessons: Ages 6-18
-Recorder Lessons: Ages 7-18
-Flute Lessons: Ages 9-18
-Clarinet Lessons: Ages 9-18

*Note on Instrument Age Ranges: Typically, these age ranges are where I often see the most success with the current instruments I offer. However, if your child falls outside the listed age range, they are still more than welcome to try, as some younger children who don't fit within the suggested age range can still learn successfully!

During the trial, you child will have a chance to meet with me, discuss their musical goals for future lessons and experience a bit of my teaching style. If the trial lesson is a success, your child will be encouraged to book ongoing 30 minute private lessons.

🍎 What Will Be Taught:
-Trial Piano Lessons (suggested age range: 5-18): Will depend on the level and playing experience of the student. Complete beginners will start with a learning game to become familiar with the finger numbers ad piano keys. Experienced players may opt to bring music they are already working on.

-Trial Voice & Singing Lessons (suggested age range: 6-18): Vocal warm-ups with gentle technique suggestions. Learners are also asked to sing a song they know and feel confident singing in a karaoke style so I can assess their current vocal abilities and provide feedback on techniques that will be learned going forward. I will also ask a few questions about your child's vocal goals, favorite styles of music and styles of singing they enjoy.

-Trial Recorder Lessons (suggested age range: 7-18):  Will depend on the level and playing experience of the student. Complete beginners will learn the basics of tone production and articulation along with the first 3 notes. More experienced recorder players may opt to bring the music they are already working on in school or independently. 
*Please double check to ensure your child is playing a soprano recorder using the baroque fingering system before enrolling in these trial recorder lessons. If you're not sure how to do this just send me a photo of the bottom of your child's recorder!

-Trial Flute Lessons (suggested age range: 9-18): Will depend on the level and playing experience of the student. Complete beginners will learn the basics of sound production on the headjoint. Experienced players may opt to bring music they are already working on in school band or independently.

-Trial Clarinet Lessons (suggested age range: 9-18): Will depend on the level and playing experience of the student. Complete beginners will learn the basics of sound production on the mouthpiece. Experienced players may opt to bring music they are already working on in school band or independently.

🍏Topics Covered: Topics covered are usually taught organically based on the instrument and current skillset of the learner. If you'd like me to work on a specific teaching topic during the trial lesson, please let me know at least 24 hours ahead of the lesson!

🎶 Class Structure: This is a 1:1 trial lesson so your child will receive personalized instruction and one-on-one guidance!

My dedication to my private students is unwavering and I enjoy building lasting bonds with them! As a teacher, I have often been described as "passionate", "caring" and "tech-savvy" by parents, students and administrators. While I enjoy creating structured lesson plans, I tend to embrace organic learning moments as they arise.

🧠 Required Experience or Knowledge: No prior musical or playing experience is required for these lessons and beginners are warmly welcomed. If your child has prior experience, I'll build upon their existing skills and knowledge.
