This four week class will be a continuation of Intro to Guitar for Beginner’s, Class 1. Student progress will differ according to amount of practice, prior musical knowledge, ect…Students will review what we learned in Class 1 and then learn how to read music and play melodies on the fourth, fifth, and sixth strings of the guitar. Through reading guitar sheet music and playing the guitar, students gain musical knowledge that is beneficial for learning other instruments as well as listening to...
Schedule: Week 1- Tuning the Guitar and a review of the notes on the first three strings, “Aura Lee”, Notes on the fourth string. “Riffin'”. Week 2 -Notes on the fifth string. “Blues Bass”, Review and (half) chords G, Em, C, D and Am. Week 3 -Notes on the Sixth String “Doo-Wop”. Week 4 -Review and (full) chords G, Em, C, D and Am.
Homework will include exercises and the songs “Aura Lee”, “Riffin'”, “Blues Bass”, “Doo-Wop”, and the chords G, Em, C, D and Am that I will provide as a pdf file. The student is asked to practice thirty minutes each day for five days a week.
All music will be attached on messages in the classroom as a pdf or rtf file.
Grades will not be issued unless a guardian desires a grade for their student. In the case that a guardian would like for the student to be graded, I will work with the parent for desired assessments.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
