This is an introductory course to the building blocks of the science of emotions. We answer how are emotions made.
Class experience
In this class, we learn about the science of emotions. This class will be presented with a PowerPoint, WITH HEAVY ANIMATION. We begin with a simple awareness exercise by taking inventory of our mood state, with an app called the Mood Meter. I will introduce a digital character, named MOTION, to help teach students about emotions. We then unpack the features of emotions. What words can we use to describe this complex system in our body? This class is taught in English.
Emotions are vague. My goal is to bring awareness to their emotions and make them think of emotions differently. This simple awareness will help them discover that emotions are different for everyone. I hope this cultivates more empathy for each other and helps in our collaborative world.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
