🎵 CLASS OVERVIEW: 🎵 In this class, students learn a new song every week on their clarinet. This class meets in an ongoing format in 11-week class cycles. Every 11 weeks we will study a new style of music. Please see the schedule below. The class schedule is constantly updated below with the current music style and song. This class is intended to break the traditional music learning mold. Students learn the clarinet by building community with others and studying songs that are highly engaging to them. 🎵 STUDENT LEVEL: 🎵 This class is appropriate for students who have had one year of previous clarinet instruction. They should be able to play low A through high A. They should also be able to count eighth-note rhythms. Please feel free to ask me if you are questioning if this class is appropriate for your child. 🎵 GENERAL CLASS FORMAT: 🎵 1. Every student is encouraged to say hello and quickly share part of their week. 2. I present a short lesson based on the song we are learning that week. 3. We play through the song with the background track. 4. I troubleshoot problem issues with the class. 5. We play through the song again with the background track. 6. If there's any extra time, we play through any previous songs in that class cycle. 🎵 CLASS SCHEDULE: 🎵 [Song Style: Classic Rock] (7/31): Oye Como Va (8/7): Recital Class [Song Style: Disney Songs] (8/14): The Ballad of Davy Crockett (8/21): Can You Feel the Love Tonight (8/28): Candle on the Water (9/4): I Just Can't Wait to Be Kingr (9/11): Part of Your World (9/18): The Medallion Calls (9/25): Whistle While You Work (10/2): You'll Be in My Heart (10/9): Mickey Mouse March (10/16): You Can Fly! Our current song style is Rock. The required book is called "Hal Leonard's Easy Instrumental Play Along: Disney for Clarinet 10 Classic Songs." Kindly purchase and receive the book before attending class. 🎵 GENERAL POLICIES: 🎵 Some familiarity with online classes/zoom is highly recommended. Students need to be able to focus on the clarinet. In order to do so, this should not be a learner's first online class. 🎵 CLASS SIZE: 🎵 To run this class, I need a minimum of two learners. This class will not exceed six learners.
