Homework
1 hour per week. Students will have the option of participating in games on the website, iCivics. They will play games based on what we are learning. iCivics was founded by former Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor. It's goal is to make Civics fun!

Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Students will set off on discovering their Civic Responsibilities, Civic Obligations, Civil Rights and what Citizenship means.
Week 1- What is citizenship? Who is eligible to be a citizen?
Week 2- Civic Resposibilities and Civic Obligations- what should we do and what must we do as citizens?
Week 3- Civil Rights- What are they? How have they evolved over time?
Week 4- Civil Rights Case Studies- Which Supreme Court Cases affect students in school?
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge on being a good citizen, what rights and duties they have as a good citizen and how Supreme Court cases ultimately affect them.
