In this one time class, students will learn how to use the built in citation and works cited tools in Microsoft Word to cite their sources in MLA format.

During this class I will teach students how to create MLA citations using the built in citation tools in Microsoft Word. Skills include: Understanding MLA citation requirements, knowing when to cite, understanding what in-text citations are, understanding what a works cited page is, creating & modifying citations and a works cited page using Microsoft Word. Students will need access to Microsoft Word (any version 2010 or higher. NOTE: If using the 365 version of Word, you may not have access to all Word options). I will start with an onscreen presentation then navigate to Microsoft Word to do a demonstration, then I will ask students to cite 2 sources and create a works cited page on their own.
