This class incorporates music, yoga poses/movement and stories to enhance focus, balance, centering the mind, body and energy of young learners. The goal of the class is to allow children to experience a fun, age-appropriate yoga class through song, stories and movement. This is a secular, music and movement style class. Herei s a list of books read in previous classes: Week 1: From Head to Toe by Eric Carle Week 2: Good Night Zoo by Adam Gamble and Cooper Kelly Week 3: Way Out in the Desert by T. J. Marsh and Jennifer Ward Week 4: Panda Bear, Panda Bear What Do You See by Eric Carle Week 5: Little Cloud by Eric Carle Week 6: Children's book (seasonal story associated with winter, spring, summer or fall) * Please note books are subject to change, but regardless of the story, the stories will be age appropriate with focus on animals and nature. Eric Carle is one of my favorite children's author!
RYT-250, plus additional training. I am a certified Mama Baby and Kids Yoga teacher. I teach yoga in my community and host yoga workshop for parent.
No homework, but class recordings will be available for future viewing between classes.
Yoga mat Water bottle (nearby or available for water breaks) Favorite colored scarf Bell or chime for the beginning of class (optional) Small feather or pom pom for breathing exercise - I will let you know ahead of time via the classroom communication page
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There are no grades or progress reports for this class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please note, parental guidance is mandatory. Make sure your child is dressed in appropriately for class. Dressy dresses and dress clothes are not suitable. Please have your child wear comfortable athletic wear (think legging or jogging pants with a tee shirt and/or sweatshirt). As with any exercise program there is a chance for injury. Young children need to be supervised. Please make sure you have opened up an area (push away the coffee table if necessary), creating adequate space for movement. By signing up for the class, you understand Outschool and I will not be held accountable for injury of any kind.
