Description
Class Experience
WELCOME: Hi Friends! I am so happy to have you join us! Students will grasp new concepts (letters, numbers, shapes, and colors) by participating in fingerplays, songs, chants, and rhymes. Using the GELDS Standards, we will focus on these four areas: physical, social-emotional, communication, and cognitive. The class size is small to ensure each student needs are met. Each lesson will allow students to grow in different areas such as communication, fine motor, and academics. CLASSROOM...
This class is taught in English.
By providing a meaningful and positive learning environment, students will learn: -Letters of the Alphabet -Numbers 1-10 -Basic Shapes (Circle, Triangle, Square, Rectangle, Heart, Star, Oval, Pentagon, Hexagon, Trapezoid) -Basic Colors (Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink, White, Orange, Brown, Black, Purple)
*I have over ten years of experience teaching in general ed and special education classrooms. I teach students with speech impairments, hearing impairments, autism, and significant developmental delays. *I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Learning Development, a Minor in Child Development, and a Master's Degree in Special Education.
Students will have a worksheet and/or art activity based on the letter, number, shape, or color.
No materials are needed for this class at this time. The only supplies needed will be when completing art activities for homework and show & tell. For example, if we are focusing on the letter Aa you will provide something you have found around your home that starts with the letter Aa.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal and formal assessments
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I encourage you to sit with your child for assistance and to ensure they are actively engaged.
