****Welcome! I am sorry, but at this time I am unable to add any additional sections outside of the scheduled classes. Please check for open enrollment positions in the current classes. I hope to be able to meet your learner soon! Thank you! ****

---Learners are able to join any week in this class, previous weeks' lessons are not needed to participate and learn each week.---

In our ongoing class, each day we will begin with calendar circle time. Singing our days of the weeks, months of the year, and counting to add dates on to our calendar for the month. Skills will be built into our calendar time following the Saxon Math curriculum for Kindergarten. Skills include: counting, patterns, shapes, colors, tens and ones place value, problem solving, addition and subtraction, and weather.
Our Kindergarten readiness phonics' skills will come after our calendar time. We will work on one task at a time. Skills will include: print concepts (top to bottom/ left to right, spaces between words, letters of the alphabet), phonological awareness (rhyming, segment sounds in words, beginning/medial/ final sounds, sound manipulation, and syllables) , phonics (letter sounds, long and short vowel sounds, silent E application, sight words, decode one syllable words), and fluency (reading emergent reader text with fluency and understanding).

Each class will follow a general pattern for welcome, calendar time, and literacy preparation mini lessons, and goodbye. We will be able to build and reinforce skills throughout the week, but each class will have a stand alone focus. I love to utilize open conversation and responses during class and students are welcome to stay off of mute (as long as there isn't an excess amount of noise disturbance). I strive to use mute only to help with background noise. Classroom management techniques are used to keep class engaging, respectful, and a kind -uplifting place.

Students are able to come and go within the semester as long as there is an opening for enrollment. Resources for the week will be sent out in advanced if there is a printing need for resources.

Refund Policy:
I am happy to give a $9 partial credit back for enrolling after a class meeting in the week for each day your learner did not attend class, upon request. A $3 credit will be kept for classroom materials and the recordings. You will receive all classroom materials for the week and recordings once we meet to verify learners. If you have any questions about this, please send me a personal message through Outschool.

I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 14 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 10 years. I was a reading specialist or coach to my school for two of those years.
I have been teaching English and reading online since February 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. I taught Kindergarten for a year in the classroom and supported their instruction practices for two years as a reading specialists.
The first year in elementary school is a daunting task for our sweet 4, 5, and 6 year old children. I want to ensure that our classroom is an encouraging, supportive, and safe place to learn and grow as a student. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting with many students who have mastered the content and for 4 years on Outschool. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student!
