Students will learn facts about the history of Cinco de Mayo and the Battle of Puebla and use inference to determine which U.S. states are most likely to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The craft activity involves students using their senses of sight, hearing, and touching as Sra. Kimberly models step by step instructions to make a maraca and demonstrates how to create musical patterns by playing with the sounds.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about a historical event and discover how to create sounds with a maracas using recycled materials.
