Class Experience

Oh, Christmas Tree. Oh, Christmas Tree!

Handmade ornaments are one of my favorites to hand on my Christmas Tree. There are so many memories with the old ornaments that I made and was so proud of to give as gifts to my family around Christmas. Whether you want to make a decoration for your own tree, or a hand made gift to give away, this Christmas Tree ornament will turn out so cute that you will want it out on display!

In this class, students will color, glue, and follow step by step directions while I demonstrate from my screen to make their own handmade Christmas Tree ornament while also listening to the story: "Noble the Christmas Tree Nobody Wanted" by Eric VanTuyl. Following directions is an important skill that will be practiced in this class. Your child will be so proud of their hard work and their ornament will turn out completely unique because your child made it on their own.

Please check the supplies to see what you will need for this class! I am excited to see your child's ornament craft creativity!

Supply List
A one-page printable handout will be provided for learners prior to class.
**To help with class time, the shapes on the provided page should be printed and cut out prior to the start of class if possible.
**To help to make these ornaments more durable, use card stock to print this page. (It will still turn out with regular paper, just it will be a bit less durable).
**In the printer settings, try to set the printer to *actual size* or *custom - 100%* to make sure the triangles are to scale.

- 3 popsicle sticks (standard size works best)
- liquid glue
- crayons/markers
- small craft pom poms (to decorate the Christmas tree) (optional - could also use fruit loops, stickers, or drawings)
- 1 piece of green construction paper (one 1/2 inch strip should be fine) - students will tear and glue this construction paper, it is easier for young students to tear when it is cut into small strips already. This is great for fine motor skills!
- 1 piece of ribbon (to hang the ornament)
- 1 piece of clear tape (to secure the ribbon on the back)
