Description
Class Experience
Students will learn to create a Christmas tree using paint. They will be encouraged to make the painting in colors that they wish to use. Students will be encouraged to blend paints to make new colors of paint for their creation.
I have been an educator in brick and mortar schools for 30 years. I have taught all academic subjects for grades K-5 as well as Art and STEAM classes. During this time, I have had the opportunity to teach children about painting and art countless times.
There will be no homework outside of class. However, students may wish to create more artworks after the class has finished.
Pencil Eraser Canvas, cardstock, or art paper Paints- please allow the child to select the colors in order to promote creativity Paintbrushes Pallett, paper plate, egg carton to use to blend paints on Paper towel Cup of water And most importantly... a smile
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learners will be assessed informally. Each learner will be encouraged to share their art with the class throughout the lesson.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While the class is creating a Christmas tree, the teacher will not discuss Christmas outside of the context of the painting.
There are no outside resources needed for this class.
