In this one time class we will read the Christmas classic, The Nutcracker! The book is beautifully illustrated by Valeria Docampo and based on the New York City Ballet's production of George Balanchine's version. I encourage students to bring any nutcrackers they have to class and share them, although this is completely optional and not required. Students will use their imaginations to transport themselves to the Land of Sweets and imagine what they would have done in the various scenarios throughout the book. They will build their own paper nutcracker, using their creative coloring skills and practicing their scissor and direction following skills.
A PDF I will provide, crayons, markers or pencils, scissors and brads (fasteners) or glue.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
