In this class, learners will listen to and participate along with the reading of the story "Careful, Santa!" (written by Julie Sykes and Tim Warnes). This story is about Santa's adventure on Christmas Eve, and how his pet reindeer, cat, and mouse helped him overcome the mishaps they faced to deliver presents on time for Christmas morning! This story is adorable, and one of my personal favorites! Learners will be asked to share their name and one thing they love about Christmas and/or winter, and will have opportunities throughout the class to answer questions, share their drawings, and practice the important skills of listening and encouraging others. After the story, learners will follow along a step-by-step drawing tutorial and draw their own Santa and their own Christmas scene. We will talk about how though we may look different from each other, we are all awesome, amazing, and super cool - and relate that to how just like us, our drawings will not all look exactly the same, but they will all be awesome, amazing, and super cool! Learners will have an opportunity to share their drawings at the end of the lesson. If learners do not complete their drawings or coloring in class, they are welcome to upload them to the classroom or message them to me once they have finished. We're going to have a wonderful Christmas time! Materials needed: Paper Pencil with eraser Colored Pencils (Please sharpen before class) and/or Crayons
